When did comic relief stop being funny, I know they raise a lot of money for a lot of good causes, but i have been watching it of and on all evening and it's yet to make me laugh. Sarah milican just took a selfie and everyone laughed it has to be canned laughter. Now we have robbie williams on talking b******s and the canned laughter is there again, time to switch over.

My Father was (and still is) such an incredably awful oaf about these things, so we never got to watch them growing up..... So I have no idea if it ever WAS funny in the first place.

Children In Need was another one we never got to see. The few times I did see it, they always had stories about what had happened to people and I enjoyed it, but NO, I had to change the channel over when my Dad came so we could watch some other piece of crap on the telly,

I have never understood what he has against them, but then, he just seems to take instant dislikes to things for no real reason, the idiot.


My Dad, combined with my Bitch of a Sister.... Gawd, I hate my family!

It is the sort of thing where, I imagine, there is only so much they can do before they have to start trying too hard at it, hence why it becomes unfunny.

I was in more or less the same boat really...my best mates dad, when I was growing up, was an Evangelist preacher and he takes the view that these one off events are inherently evil...taking funds from other charities and outdoing them for one off occasions, on account of corporate sponsorship and fragile ego's...bit of a dick in other words, but I used to spend most weekends at his because he had a massive house and my mum was always out on a Friday night, so I never really got to see much of it. My sister sat in a bathtub full of beans to raise some money for it one year though, so I got to see that bit.

Not sure Lenny Henry's ever been funny, mind.

ah, they always do...people I mean...everything's right according to the individual and everything's wrong which isn't...I try to be done with opinions...not worth the hassle...more fun and interesting to observe IMO. Pinches of salt everywhere...
