There you're voting, knowning that after a set period, you'll be voting again.Same with general elections, we should only hold one. Ever.
That would be democracy.

I take exception to the comment "didn't bother to vote" I didn't didn't bother to vote, I actively chose not to vote, I'm perfectly happy with my decision not to vote, I do not know enough about the subject to make that decision & the two sides didn't make a good enough argument to persuade me either way. They both used scaremonger tactics rather than factsI wonder if any of the 28% that didn't bother to vote now wish they had of..
Sounds like a penalty shoot out would have done the trick. Oh no, your record there isn't up to much so maybe not.
Why the sudden backtracking Accy?
You sound like a different person from yesterday, or has your account been hacked?.

What, wait....you can lock sections of threads? Some have that bit locked out though.
I'm with the first three replies on this though.
I agree with your arguement, and linked with the act of Parliament I mentioned I think the whole thing will just stall. Interesting to listen to Merkel yesterday trying to calm down the Euro Foreign Ministers and the French in general. She was very sober in her language and urged reflection, I think she has worked out it isn't necessarily going to happen and is adopting the role of mother trying to talk down a bunch of squabbling kids. You'd think. However, Cameron announced yesterday he was resigning, but he didn't trigger Article 50. He's obviously not going to, and he doesn't have to. Will his successor do so in October? When we will be still be experiencing the hard times that everyone agreed would be the short term consequences of Brexit? We shall see.
This is doing the rounds at the moment, I think it has some truth in it.
And this single referendum vote was done/sold as a one time only vote. And it's set up that way because opinions change.
All that's happened is that Garage and Johnson have given other unpleasant extremists like Le Pen and Wilders the excuse to sound off.The situation has changed since the Brexit vote. Eurosceptics in other countries are now gaining momentum and the Federalists have woken up to the fact they can't ignore them any longer.
It's not just the voters, if there is any justice in this world then a lot of the would be candidates will be ineligible and languishing in jail for their crimes against the state.Given the that there was more older voters voting exit, couple of years for a few more of them to pop their clogs (death rate is around 1/2 million per annum) may have swung the vote the other way.
Ironic then that you have accidentally increased the level of fraud by an order of magnitude. Google says 77,000.I just heard on the radio that 700,000 signatures have been removed due to being fraudulent. Lies, damned lies, and politics.
The other side brings their petition online.Ironic then that you have accidentally increased the level of fraud by an order of magnitude. Google says 77,000.
Online polls are always have invalid votes. It would be pretty easy to create a 'bot to vote. Pretty easy to detect, too, and presumably a crime so I am not suggesting anyone does that. But this petition is no more binding than the vote itself, so what's it matter if it's hacked?
And unless the governments of those countries and the EU begin to address the concerns of large sections of their populations those unpleasant extremists are going to benefit when people think they are the only ones listening to them. Learn from Northern Ireland where the British government and Stormont did just that to one third of the population, leading to the resurgence of the IRA and decades of chaos and terrorism. All that's happened is that Garage and Johnson have given other unpleasant extremists like Le Pen and Wilders the excuse to sound off.
