Will the regional Mayors be setting an example using active travel themselves to commute?

Bozza used to, but Khan is chauffered for the commute in an armoured Range Rover...

I never thought I'd hear myself saying this, but lets hope a few follow Bozza's example.

Heartily agree there. Lead by example every time. I used to do my monthly shop with a cycle trailer and cashiers, people parking absurdly large cars having driven a couple of miles to get there were genuinely amazed sometimes! Shopping on a bike who'd of ever imagined such feats could be done. We've lost more than we've gained and let's hope the light at the end of the tunnel is reigniting to better planning and fore thought.

Local one is first on the list but hasn't been seen on local transport(Photo shots not included) and hates walking. She's not that keen on cycling either.
She's signed the "Pledge" but isn't too keen on active involvement by herself. Maybe if she did cycle or walk about town and city centres, she'd realise most of the schemes she's backed/backing are actually having the opposite effect.

Hopefully those that have signed the "Pledge", get out and practice what they say others should do. And not just for publicity purposes.

Inthe 70's my school had racks for at least a 100 bikes.

Yep our school was walk or cycle. A kid being driven was a rare sight indeed. Even many teachers came by public transport or walked. Our English teacher was a bloody fast walker as he’d get bus near to where I lived then walk to the school. I’d pass him on my bike each morning.

I was disappointed that in every shot of her with a bike Kim McGuinness had a helmet hanging from the handlebars. I don't care whether she wears one or not but if you're going to promote cycling as an ordinary day to day activity you should be showing that "helmet hair" isn't something to be ashamed of. So if you've got a helmet put it on and wear it for the photoshoot.
