North Lancs here - drivers almost always very considerate.
The closest passes I've had recently were on a single track road over the Bealach na Ba in Scotland*, where most drivers slowed down a bit beside us until we could swerve into the next passing place - they could usually get past us without us having to stop (so slowly were we going).
But a bunch of t**ts in Citroen 2CVs (I think they
were French) couldn't wait - oh no. They had to put their offside wheels on the gravel on the other side of the road and squeeze past us with inches to spare - and us not managing a very straight line anyway due to the hill.

*from the Applecross side. We had to stop and rest a couple of times

, but we didn't walk any of it!
