i know two couples, both men have wives 20 + years younger than them, one having paired up with her Dads best Friend !!! i believe that both these women are gold diggers. One of the women involved has discovered her Husband isnt as wealthy as he first made out,and she is thinking of leaving him !! (i rest my case)Mrs R has a go at me when i mention "golddigger" and i believe even in a relationship based on Love and not money that the age gap becomes an issue later in life.

There's approximately 20 years between Mme Syrphe and me, she made the first move and she definitely doesn't need to gold-dig.

My uncle married a lady 20 or so years his junior after his first marriage ended. Very sadly, he died recently but I'm pretty sure that his widow would not swap the many very happy years they had together simply because she's now alone at a younger age than most.

My Missus is 10 years younger than me. Not an huge gap, but nevertheless those 10 years were rather more than a third of her life up until then.

when we first got together and got married there was a 4 year age gap between us, and at times, due to still being young, this has felt large as she was still experiencing things I'd got bored with such as big nights out etc while at uni (I was still at uni, but had been for a while)

don't really notice it now

We used to know a bloke who was divorcing his wife who was around 25 years younger than him because "Her looks are going so its time to get rid". Charming chap. She was devastated BTW.

My wife is two months younger than me and knows only too well i don't even have gold in my fillings.

In all honesty I do think being the same age makes things easier for us.

I'm not sure what point you are making with this post. Is there is a point you are trying to make or you just expressing a view based on a random thought?

Our longest ever next door neighbours' daughter met a really bad end due to a relationship with a large age gap. She was a teenager when her head was turned by the compliments and purchasing power of a considerably older gentleman. She ignored the suggestions, recommendations, advice and downright threats in order to stay with this man who was about thirty years older than her. A real Jimmy Saville situation before it was widely known, this was. To stop the harassment he was getting, he took a job at an NCP place in Morecambe to move Dianne over there with him. They'd been there a couple of years when Dianne started to get itchy feet and saw this old lech for what he was. He couldn't put up with her wanting to move and if he wasn't going to have her, no-one else would so he killed her! He's currently serving life for that.

Lordy! We must point out though that not every older gentleman is a lecherous psychopath, and I've come across plenty of young ones over the years.
