remove the bike from trainer or leave it for the winter?

Hello all,
is it OK to leave the wheel on trainer connected to the bike all winter? does it damage something in the bike or is it fine.

Mine has been on the turbo for about 7 years, just loosen the pressure of the roller against the tyre when not in use.

It's quite a good way of storing a bike, It's not going to get scratched or knocked over, as @screenman says just release the rear roller. My son's road bike is almost permanently hooked up to his Tacx

My old bike is permanently attached to the trainer. I've not released the roller, and the tyre can be a little bumpy for a few revolutions when you jump on, but if you don't plan using it for some time, release the roller.
