I want to replace the pedals on my Brompton. Something doesn't feel right in the transmission somewhere, and I want to check if it's the pedals. However, it looks like you need a special tool to remove the foldable pedal. Does anyone know where such a tool may be sourced? I've tried using my adjustable spanner, but I can't get enough purchase on that big, recessed bolt.

The usual recommendation is a 24mm socket wrench, I think.

Yep, it's a job for a 24mm socket wrench. Be careful because it is a bugger to get back on. Make a note of what bits you take off and in what order/orientation. If in doubt, take photos at each stage. Took me nearly 40 minutes to get one back on.
