Can anyone help with removing this cassette type please

Hi how do I remove this cassette please

It looks like a screw on freewheel.
You will need the correct removal tool for the make of the freewheel.
It will fit in the space behind the nut and using an adjustable spanner or a large ring spanner it will unscrew.
As it looks to be oldish, it may take a bit of effort.
You could take the wheel to your local bike shop, LBS, and they will remove it for you.

Is that an old MF 30 hyperglide Shimano freewheel ?

I think they used a 12 spline remover, I guess google will throw something up. Tool starts FW something iirc.

Blimey that is rusty. Recent purchase “project bike”? Can you see the notches on outside of nearest ring. Six notches from what I can see. You want a tool to fit that.

That won't do it, the splines are for a lock ring with internal splines.

Gentle tapping with a chisel would be worth a try.

You may need a peg tool, or go in more destructive. Does it say 'Falcon' on the inner edge. Be easier to see what we're dealing with if you can clean the centre around the axel up.

Nope, it's for a Falcon freewheel.

If you don’t have a bench vice and the right tool, I’d advise taking the wheel to your FLBS for them to remove it.

Might be a good idea having the bike shop do it. , I think the tool is an TL FW 20 which can be hard to come by.

Even freewheels with splines and a decent tool can be a nightmare to remove. I used to use a big adjustable, with the end of the garden rake attached, so had a 6 foot spanner...
