Help with identifying this part

145mm long. Two threaded end caps.
Thru axle?
I don't and never have had wheels with thru axles so no idea why I have this.

Did it perhaps come with a direct drive (no rear wheel) turbo trainer. to go through a specific rear axle size frame?

Looks like a rear axle from a hub, don't know which make, they all vary slightly.

Looks like it could be a thru-axle to QR adapter.

Aha! I have Sun Ringle Disc Jockey hubs on my 26" Morewood Shova. Must have bought this as a spare over sixteen years ago! No wonder I forgot about it.
