Hi I have dropped something on my creative speakers volume control for my pc speakers. i have opened it up and the variable resistor is broken, i assume a variable resistor from o level physics x number of years ago .

these speakers do not work without this contoller  the resistor has b50k written on i have 'googled' but found nothing

it is a round adjuster with 5 'feet' which solder on to the board and control the volume. there are no spare controllers available this needs a repair. anyone on here prepared to undertake the job?

or does anyone have a spare controller for a creative I-trigue 5600 system, highly unlikely.

cheers

assuming its just the shaft thats broken, you should be able to use a multimeter in resistive mode to find out which pin is which.....

I'd guess you have a common earth, 2 wiper connections one for each channel, and 2 for the signals from each channel

oh and volume pots are normally log mind you that is not necessarilly the case

no it is not the shaft the whole thing got crushed and the feet on the potentiometer are broken so need to remove and solder in new one.

i saw those on maplins twowheelsgood and they look nothing like mine. i must try and post a pic.
