Repeat after me: Cheap tools are a false economy

I have a cheap multitool from the bargain bucket of some bike shop or other that often comes loose (I've never had it fall to bits). It's held together with an allen bolt, which gives me a little conundrum. How do I tighten this bolt? I know I'll use my mutitool. Ah ... hang on.

I have the topeak 18+ multitool and they considered this.
It has a detachable chain tool so you can use the hex key to turn the chain tool. On the detachable bit is a small flip out 4mm hex key for adjusting the main body.

Check which allen keys and screwdrivers (if any) you you actually NEED for your bike, and carry only those. I'll bet most of us don't require all the tools on our multitool (me too :okay:)
The problem with that approach is that when checking I would probably miss one. And inevitably that would be the one that I would need to tighten on the road.

But you're right about not needing all that stuff. Indeed I have a multitool with things that I don't even recognise or understand.
