Replacement Tektro R359 pads

The pads that come with these sound like a bucket of gravel when i apply them , now i know it must be the compound but it sounds horrible as i can imagine my rims being ground away.

They look to be able to accept a pad only replacement (leaving the carrier in place) but does anybody know if shimano patten pads will fit ?

If so are Koolstop recommended ?

Koolstop recommended. Quite happy with Clarkes Shimano replacements myself - they stop well, and can be had quite cheap.

I have bought a pair of clarks as well, (although I needed the carrier as well) - and they seem ok
