A chum has asked me to replace the worn out chainset on his Boardman adv 8.9.

The chainwheels are 120-90 32-48 FSA and its 10 speed 11-36 on the rear, but I am having trouble find the parts.

Anyone been here before me with any advice please.

I guess you are just looking for the chainrings and not the whole chainset which on SJS is £125 ( I think).

Are you sure it's worn? It's just that chainrings have a much longer life than chains and cassettes and can last for years. And if its a double, unlikely that both have worn out together, so maybe just one needs replacing.

Or is it something other than worn teeth? A photo might help.

Good luck

Yes its worn out. The smaller chainring was replaced a while ago and it did have a new chain, but its all gone now and not helped by endless use of WD40 as a lubricant and then not cleaning off the collected grit and soil. The good luck may well be needed. Thanks.
