That's what I thought this morning whilst riding to work. As soon as I saw him pulling out to overtake I knew he was going to have to cut me up to get back in,so I slowed to save him from.....well wiping me out I suppose!
But then he did something beyond belief. Just look at this lunatic. I genuinely thought that if I didn't slow down, I'd have been a lorry/kerb sandwich.

I'm currently looking into making my first ever official complaint about another driver. If anyone's had any experience in complaining directly to 'Co-op' I'd appreciate some advice.....or adv ice in general. Also thinking of going directly to the Old Bill. Or am I mistaken in just how out of order this piece of driving was? As an LGV driver myself, I'm well and truly flabber-ghasted by this maneuver.

Above is my original thread. I received a call today from Co-op Transport Manager (T.M) informing me that, after viewing the video (now deleted from Youtube) the driver had been suspended whilst an investigation is carried out. I feel bad for the driver, and hope he doesn't lose his job, but then again, if he continued to drive in this manner, who's to say that next week his luck could run out and some serious damage could be done. I did tell the T.M that as far as I was concerned, all I wanted was for the driver to view the video, and put himself in the cyclists position (it scared the Bejuses out of me.)

I thought of this video today - a car started to pass me coming up to a traffic island, started to cut back in, realised it wasn't going to make it without wiping me out, and turned back out to go the wrong side of the island. Thankfully nothing was coming the other way, which was lucky as it was 4pm on a main commuter road out of Exeter (the A377 by Quicke's Farm, for those who know the area). Grr. But at least I'm alive, which is probably a plus point.

I work in the Transport Industry and my company suspends any driver straight away if something like this is reported. Until its been investigated, there are loads of bogus calls too...Don't think he will be sacked more than likely a final written warning...

I get at least one car a week, sometimes more do that on a stretch of road i cycle along in the early morning. Never had a lorry do it though.
To be honest, i'd rather them go the wrong side of the island rather than try and squeeze through an impossible gap putting my life in danger.

But I'd much rather their observational skills were up to the level where they spotted me in well advance, recognised the road layout, drove at an appropriate speed and in a legal manner......

All you did was pass on information on something you saw on the road and as I think you said in the other thread, you will leave it up to the employer to decide what to do.

They have acted on the information in the way they saw fit.

If he's a good employee he will be given another chance. If he's not he'll be on his way.

You shouldn't feel bad, although the fact that you do shows a compassionate side.

A car did exactly the same at a pinch point today. I seriously thought he was going to cut in on me and there wouldnt have been any room for either of us to go.
Thought of reporting it but just CBA.
