Has anyone got an experience of the above? My 6yr old Lightwave Trek has started bleeding water through the (PU) groundsheet.

Googling around diluting silcone sealant in turps and painting it on the groundsheet is probably worth a punt.

graingers fabsil liquid. in a garden sprayer , the ones with the big handle that pumps the pressure up. hang the groundsheet up and spray it. leave to dry. it will need doing once a year or so after the first treatment.

Cheers, I did get in contact with the manufacturer, and they basically admitted there's good solution beyond using a footprint. I have got a footprint, but worried in deluges and boggy ground the water will get round it. I'll at least give that a punt (when we get a warm enough day to do it in the yard). It seems less messy than painting on silicone in turps.

If it involves water and comfort and is broke, don`t try and fix it. The chances of getting it 100% right, is slim.

Replace it, one way or another and be safe....and dry.

I'd pretty much go with the above, but I have got a small tent which I've cut some polythene sheet material (dust cover) to bie a bit big and place inside the inner tent which works. It's not the most elegant solution though.

I repaired my Vaude Taurus Ultralite this way. Used clear silicone (from screwfix) cant recall the mix but its as good as new.

mine was a visible rip in the fabric, can you find the source of the leak?
