Rest or recovery ride?

I posted this in he training thread but I don't think many people read that.

I did a 50 mile ride yesterday, my longest ride to date. My legs feel tired this morning. Should I rest today or would it be better to go out for a 10-15 mile spin as a recovery ride?

I guess it could be a personal thing, but I'd go out for a recovery ride. Make sure it actually is a recovery ride though! Absolutely no sprinting, racing, aiming for a time.... perhaps a nice gentle ride or walk around a park in the sunshine? For me, sitting down at a desk all day after a hard session results in achey legs for days, so recovery sessions can be beneficial if done correctly.
