If anyone has used the Restrap downtube bag and likes it or loathes I’d be interested to hear their comments.

I currently use a bottle & cage, but it’s stuffed, not waterproof and is difficult to remove & refit.

Thanks

I did consider this for my gravel bike. I decided it would get filthy and would be a wasted purchase after a few months use.

Restrap make great kit but for every day use this didn't really seem to have a sensible purpose. For long distance touring when every packing opportunity is important it probably offers something.

Had one for two seasons. It’s tough and totally waterproof, which is great. Mount is solid, but it’s a bit fiddly to get on and off the bracket quickly. If you’re after more space and don’t need daily access, it’s perfect. If you swap it constantly, it might annoy you.

I don’t need daily access, WP is a must. It’s for my gravel bike but I’m not a significant off roader,

When I was considering the bag you're looking at. I came across this Restrap tool pouch. It's the bag I went for. Two major benefits for me. It easily holds all I need and it fits snugly under the saddle, leaving exposed seat post for lights etc. Creating the space for lights which was my main goal.

I'm happy to recommend it.

I don’t think 0.6 l is sufficient, but I’m certainly going to take a look, thanks.

ive just looked at the tool pouch, but I have something very similar on my road bike. My current Topeak tool bottle is I think 0.7 l and not WP. I certainly don’t want less volume and I definitely do want WP.

restrap make great stuff. personally I'd by strapping that under the top tube though, positioned where they photograph it - well its just downright daft - right in the line of all the shite thrown up by the front wheel

The problem is when bike packing under the top tube/cross bar is already taken.
