JE James is ok, only thing you have to watch (a) they are quite disorganised, don't know their stock levels etc and ( the mechanics are a little mtb than road oriented, other than that it's a fairly good shop, and they apparently price match. Road dept is upstairs, some fairly knowledgable fellas there, some of whom race I think.

Just make sure you go in the one on the correct side of the road (not the same side as blades stadium) - otherwise you'll be laughed at as a bumbling hybriddist ;)

There aren't really any decent bike shops in Sheffield.

There aren't too many clubs either, you'd probably fit in best to the mysterious Sheff rec

Go for a ride with Andy, Joe - when you have time...;)

Sheffield's flat anyway. We need to borrow some of these hills that have been built in London by Boris in the last couple of years.

The uni built some new lockers the last year, I think in theory you'd be allowed to lock it up there and probably very much advised to do that or keep it in your room. I know the chair of the university cycle forum fairly well, I could ask them at any rate. In anycase I'm sure you'll work something out.

The university club is all right, I think the other rides they do/did on Wednesday afternoon aren't that challenging. I said Sheff Rec as I know they ride through the winter and are fairly hard core (unlike my lot that don't  ) and I was thinking of joining them myself getting cheesed off with other avenues. For example they were up on the Snake in that rainstorm and high winds when it was shut :girl:.

Planet X isn't really in Doncaster, it's a bit north of Doncaster so it's awkward to get to, unless you cycle . If you're talking that sort of distance there are all sorts of good shops.
