Not a dress then?

Urges are under control thanks to retail therapy* in Curry House, specifically 3 Cobras while waiting.

*all budgeted for in advance so not sure if it counts.

Nah. I still need/want the hundred grand for the dress ;)

Mrs Noodley says she'd rent me out for you to drape over yourself for that kind of money!:laugh:

I'd not object....;)

I rather think you and MrWC might have a different view :biggrin:

Re retail therapy: I tend to frame things in terms of how much I can 'save' on anticipated price or on RRP. i.e. I'm a sucker

I don't go much in for spending money on items viewed by many as 'essential' due to advertisers and currently accepted 'lifestyle' benefits of owning certain items.

But I do spend money on my kids and Mrs Noodley. And I'd have saved loads over the years if I had just spent a bit more on better bike kit rather than 2nd or 3rd rate stuff which I had to replace...not that it's true that money equals quality in all cases; I have some great stuff which cost a lot less than the marketeers 'bling', it's a question of getting it right for the most important stuff. Anyway I've started to ramble - must be the thought of being draped over waffles ;)

As much as I surely admire MrsNoodley's taste in her man, I'd prefer the dress. Sorry.

The dress well, that's the top bit of it..
The dress the back of it. Sigh. When it moves it's like liquid fire..

I agree longers - when the bug bites it is terrible.
I had a touch of it on Friday and went to selfridges in London. I was taken by the opulence and smartness of it all - a real treat looking at shop fittings and stuff like that, as well as the objects for sale.
It's the first time I have been in there for ages and consequently a real treat, getting rid of that desire (but also a few squid ).
Tip: Go to the LG floor and engage the staff who work at Nespresso 'boutique' in an interesting conversation about "How to" or "Could I..?" etc - drink cup after cup of yummy ristretti - or whatever takes you fancy! For free.
(OK - I did buy some refills...eventually).
Upstairs, there is a really stylish WH Smith with all the 'mode' / fashion magazines...'Antiques Collectors Journal' et al - another treat to browse, then buy for modest sums.
And I departed the store satisfied - now that was retail theraputic!
PS. I looked at the Premier League footballers phones - who's name escapes me for the moment, and I don't even want one of those ugly bloody things- even though they cost £11,500 or something like that. So!

How exciting WC! Last week I stopped myself spending £300 on a dress - the most beautiful thing I've ever worn - because I'd probably never have the occasion to wear it. But it looked amazing.

This week I'm trying to stop myself buying a new waterproof and a second pair of assos shorts.

How things change...!

My best bargain to date was a dress I bought in Cambridge many years ago (thinks.. difficult in girlie mode .. about fifteen years ago). Cocktail number in red quilted satin & black velvet, which should have been £250 but I got for £25, as it was soooo last season, but I adored it. I still have it, carefully tucked away in the wardrobe.

Best place for retail therapy is, IMO, Marks & Spencer. That way, when the buyer's remorse kicks in, you also get the buzz from getting one over on the store when you return it.
