I've just been given a new PC at work with Windows 10 on it. One thing I've noticed is that they've gone back to 2D graphics. The icons look like the ones used on Windows XP, not Windows 7. The browser looks like something of a mobile phone. The whole package is a lot nicer to look at.

Does that mean that when you look out of Windows you don't see things in 3D have you been to see an optician?

I think there is a big movement in that direction.

Android is now using 'Material Design', which I think looks very elegant.

I am developing some simple puzzle games. Initially, I was drawing complex shiny textured 3D objects but came to the conclusion that I prefer much simpler, uncluttered graphics so I am back to using 2D, just a hint of shadow here and there etc.
