Doubt it, they would be obsolete now and you cant retain for longer than necessary under data protection.
So its been returned now.
Those librarians will have a laugh when they open the package.

surely they'd be entitled to keep records of who hadn't returned a book for as long is it hadn't been returned as that data would still be necessary

From what I remember libraries used cards to store their records in 1991. They were probably thrown out years ago.
 
I still have a book I got out when I was 8 (30 years ago) and don't think it will ever be returned. I don't really read much at all and it can be years between me visiting the library.. I remember when I joined in my town and was asked "did you use to live at (blah blah) address" lol, it was followed with a swift "nope" "notme".


Hahaha such a rebel..
