RftCtC - Ride from the Coast to Cologne

Registering an interest in the September option...

Great - so 19-21 September shall be the date. Cheap Deutsche Bahn "London special" tickets from Cologne to London (starting at 59 Euros) can be booked 90 days in advance. Apparently that's 23 June. (Those tickets can be cancelled in advance against a 15 euros fee.) I'll start working on the route.

The only downside (for some maybe an upside...) is that the Photokina fair will be on that particular weekend in September. Hotel prices might be interesting......

Even a hostel that usually charges 89 Euros for a double room including breakfast charges 199 Euro on that particular weekend, due to the fair. I suggest we do this ride in 2015, and sort out a datewhen the FNRttC dates are fixed.

I would be staying with friends anyway, so I would not be affected by the silly prices. I'm happy to go along with the September date, provided there are some other rider. But I think accomodations would have to be booked ASAP.

I am interested as I have a friend who lives in Cologne.
However not being a weirdo foldy bike rider, looking at the options for a return it all seems a bit of a faff.

I'm thinking this may be best to decide over a Bordeaux in Bordeaux. By then we shall either be heartily sick of our wheels or be desperate for more.
