So you can add 10 speed rival or force mechs to apex? Obviously I'll check all of this with the LBS as I won't be doing the work myself, but I'll probably source the parts elsewhere and pay the fitting surcharge . A bit of weight saving would be nice, yes I know I could do that off my middle but that's so boring compared to buying new shiny stuff

I'm not bothered about disc brakes on the carbon fair weather bike

I believe it's all compatible (not sure about Red, as I believe that has some differences).
However, I'm not sure I'd bother. The weight savings are minimal and though the difference in shifting quality is there, it's not huge.

If I was speccing a bike from scratch I'd go Rival22 or Force22 - mainly to get the new 11 speed group. I'd not bother replacing 10sp Apex mechs with 10spd Force unless they were broken.

A step up to Force22 all round would be nice though (but not cheap CRC are currently asking £440 for the full groupset) - although I guess you could recover some of that by selling on the Apex......

What is all this "shift button" voodoo you all speak of ?


Never used modern Campy, so I am clueless as to it's function.
