I used to like 'The Good Life' (mostly because of Felicity Kendal and the stirrings she awoke within me., But Briers (RIP) was in his metier there too.

However, I've also always like this outburst from Vyvyan in the Young Ones.

Briers will also always, for me, be associated with the magnificent Roobarb

I met him once, I was an extra in some sitcom he was in in the 90"s, we were all in a mini bus together, the extras, Richard Briers, and some crew, leaving the hotel to go to the location. He was sitting in the front with the driver, and we were travelling down this narrow drive. A car cam in the opposite direction and there wasn't enough room to pass, but the car driver did not gives way, thought he/she should've.

Richard Briers said to the Driver really loudly, "look at that stupid daffodil, what the farking hell does she think she is doing, stuuupid farking daffodil!"

It suprised me that did, but he was nice to us, I liked him.

EDIT: The show was called Down to Earth.

He was a good actor. Even Robert deNiro thought so. I think he saw him in a Shakespeare film directed by Kenneth Brannagh, Much Ado about Nothing or something like that. Richard Briers played a blind, old man in Frankenstein, which again Brannagh directed, while deNiro played Frankenstein. The film was not great, but Briers was good in his small role.

He was a very good actor, I saw him in a couple of plays in the 1980's he was excellent in them.

A true legend Rip, loved the good life (along with Felicty Kendal) (did I ever tell you that Mrs Viking is related to Bob Larbey who co wrote the Good life with John Esmonde, No? well its not a very interesting fact anyway)

Another indication that days are slipping past too quickly. Better get moving on all those things I said I would do, before it's too late to do them!
