I loved Roobard and the Good Life, mostly due to him. He seemed to be a genuinely nice bloke - RIP.

I liked him too but The Good Life was a load of middle-class suburban twaddle. As for Ever Decreasing Circles and Monarch of the Glen....

I quite liked Ever Decreasing Circles, mainly because it gently poked fun at middle class suburbia through the disruption caused by Peter Egan's character. Haven't seen it in years so it's probably got very dated.

Mrs Rezillo and I are often rather worried that we are turning into Howard and Hilda.

I forgot he did Rhubarb and Custard...what a great series.
All that weird jerky animation, and what a theme tune.

Another indication that days are slipping past too quickly. Better get moving on all those things I said I would do, before it's too late to do them!

Those were exactly my thoughts on hearing this. Also that, with my parents approaching the age Briers was, I really must phone / visit them far more often.

Very sad RIP RB.

Very sad. Brilliant actor, he made comedy look effortless. I was pleased that Kenneth Branagh gave him some unforgettable parts in Much Ado About Nothing and Henry V.
He played Bardolph in Henry V with the understated skill he brought to this comic roles and in the hanging scene Briers gives a look that spoke a thousand words at the end.
Another great talent gone but he will live on through his work for years to come..

I'm sure I read something not too long ago where Briers described her as a bit strange and aloof.
Here we go, from: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbi...-Prunella-Scales-shocking-confession-own.html

Has his Good Life co-star Felicity Kendal been supportive during his illness?
‘Not much,’ he says. ‘She seems to have disappeared in a strange way. She’s an extraordinary girl. I don’t really know who she is. Never did. She was always an attractive girl and she’s still pretty young, but you know she’s very strange. Enchanting, but very strange.
‘She became enamoured with [playwright Tom] Stoppard. They were very much in love and I think she’d had enough of The Good Life. She quite liked the idea of very good acting — clever acting rather than just sitcom. Now she’s got this very nice American chap who’s been with her many years.

‘I got a very nice card from her, but we’ve never really…’
Been friends? ‘No, it’s ridiculous. Strange.’ Which it is given that they are one of the best-loved telly couples in British comedy.
