One of my old uni housemates is an Archiologist at Leicester Uni, he was on the dig, in fact there shots of him trowel in hand on the BBC news this morning.

For the record, the people of Leicester really couldn't give a stuff if it's him or not,

ROYGBIV is the rainbow. (Richard of york etc).

BBROYGBVGW is the Resistor codes
I seem to recall a rather more Non-PC rhyme for the resister codes....... probably best to let that one fade into obscurity

I'm ashamed to admit that the only way I can remember resistor colour codes is by the mnemonic that ends "...But Virgins Go Without" - Black Brown Red Orange Yellow Green Blue Violet Grey White.
Thankfully in the era of surface mount components they just print the value on.
So, a 470 ohm resistor is yellow violet brown (4 7 and 1 zero) as a wired resistor, or 471 printed onto a surface mount, which might only be a few mm long...

I'm interested.
What's most interesting of course is that the battle of Boswoth in Leicestershire, where there is a very nice visitors centre and museum, wasn't actually at Bosworth, Leicestershire, but a couple of miles to the west in Warwickshire. Further, Warwickshire County Council nor the farmer who owns the land the battle took place on have any real interest in getting involved.
