It is Richard III.

I'm in awe of the whole investigation.

And Tutankhamun was an Irishman.

So you are discarding historical, archeological, forensic and confirmed DNA evidence with your frippery?

Wow, very cool! I've been out all day, so missed the news.

I'd heard a story when I was at school that historians thought his decayed body had been tipped in the River Soar, so would never be found. I always thought that was a sad end for a King. I'm very glad it wasn't the case.

Well, if Richard had defeated his enemies we wouldn't have got Henry VIII, Anne Boleyn would have lived to a ripe old age, the monasteries would be dotted around all over the place the troubles in N. Ireland would never have happened and we'd still be a Roman Catholic country. Probably.
We would also have to put up with a white rose and the Yorkshire lot would have something to brag about. :banghead:

Well, I'm glad it is Richard, as the only other male I know from Leicester is TVC and I didn't want it to be him.
Me too, although I thought Maz and Roger (Hilldodger) were also from Leicester...........so am equally happy it's not them either.......

I always thought it was Richard of York GAVE battle in vain. But I never understood the meaning of to "give battle". But "gain battle" seems even more meaningless to me. So I reckon it's "Richard of York got banjaxed in vain"
