Saw a bike underneath a left turning blue van just off the A3 on Kennigton Road. From what I could see as I whizzed passed it didn't look to serious and hope the cyclist is okay.

First day back and the roads are busy. Not helped by increased volume of bike and motoroised traffic due to the tube strike.

Bloke down in the middle of the road just north of Clapham Common about 8ish as well. Ambulance, bloke on stretcher. No sign of bike/car/motor-bike/scooter so no idea what happened.

was going at 28mph on a straight road and a van was in the middle of the road opposite my direction waiting to turn right . i was about 20m from him when he decided to turn which made me break hard and skid my rear tyre....if i didnt might have hit the back of the van. confronted him said he left me plenty of room......i think a lot of drivers misjudge our speed and make errors like this.

I assumed it was an unfortunate pedestrian - I came through at 8.15ish. When I passed (I was told to dismount and push) there was a heavily blood stained white blanket in the middle of the road (a disturbing image) and the casulaty was in the ambulance. I hope they're OK.

When I went through Clapham, there was much broken glass and a damaged motorbike by the side of the road; Police talking to a guy sat on a cafe chair next to it. Not sure of the connections.

a brother in law once turned right across a motorcyclist that then hit the side of his van killing the rider, he said in court that he'd left the rider 'plenty of room' and got off

He was lucky to get away with that. My accident was a right turner who claimed "never touched him guv" and I was in the road, unconscious and with amnesia. Fortunately the unmarked police car that happened to be close behind me contained 2 policemen unaffected by amnesia didn't agree and said "nick him". 4 month driving ban for our boy racer hero. I'm "enjoying" the 10th month of being unwell and having no work.

There was recently a case of a young woman, a care assistant, who hit a TT rider on the A1 and killed him, she was imprisoned. I can't help thinking some kind of in community sentence would have been appropriate, maybe one involving medical care for road accident victims so she has time to reflect on the fact that the roads are hazardous places.
