I received the club's ride list in the post this morning and they're riding Christmas morning! Only 55km but I'm none-the-less impressed.

Not sure yet whether I'll ride (it'd be 90km for me, adding my there-and-back mileage) because the misses and I had the idea to walk the dogs in the morning before settling down to prepare a Christmas dinner over a few bottles of wine BUT I must admit to fancying the idea of a quick spin before pigging out!

I haven't been on a bike on Christmas day since i was 9 years old and Santa gave me
a 5-speed peugeot with drop bars.

Still if the old white whiskered one left a brand new Bianchi at the foot of my bed i might be tempted !

Im planning one. Wanted to go out last year but didnt manage to get out in the morning, and didnt feel like going out in the afternoon.
This year ill be out in the morning i hope.

If the weather's OK, I'll do a lap around Exeter city and down to the airport - about 15 miles. Hopefully the airport will be open for a bit of cake, a cuppa coffee, and a slug of brandy from my water bottle!

I always ride on Xmas morning. Haven't missed one in years. Just a short ride of about 35 kms (21 miles), but it gets me ready to enjoy the banquet and is, of course, one of the last rides of the year.

Our club also puts on a 60km New Year's ride. I never miss a ride on the first day of the year. On NY Eve, I replace the batteries in my computers (whether they need it or not) resetting them to 00000.0, ready for another year.

I'm a bit ahead of where I was last year for total distance, though a couple thousand kilometres short of my personal best. I'll crack 8,000 kms (4,970 mi) today though (so I'd better get out from in front of this keyboard and ger' on me bike!)

Always try to get out for a ride or, failing that, a run on Xmas morning.

May take the sprog out on the tag-a-long because she's always on about it since we last went out.
