I have a friend, whom I know through a club, selling his 2006 Compact frame. I don't know if there were any major improvements that contributed to the 2008 and 2010 frame models. What about the aluminum alloy and material used to build it up. Any changes in these? I don't know if I should go for it or not. Any hits and tips are greatly appreciated.

Cheers!

Wouldn't have thought that Ridley would have made any great changes in the spec.

If you want speed, look no further (apart from a more expensive Ridley!) - if it's comfort, look elsewhere or be prepared to get used to the feel.

Why should I go for it if it's speed that I need?

It will give you a good intro and experience of what a frame can do,especially if teamed up with a good pair of wheels. It might be a little rough but it will provide a good yardstick for any future upgrades.
