A guitarist friend of mine who used to be in a band called The Egg.

I've got one of their albums, Albumen, on vinyl. Odd record, very good sound quality.

That came out when I was living with them... that whole record, believe it or not, was sections cut out of a single 4-hour session off their nuts on Es, improvising around the basic tunes, with only a few overdubs - the sound quality is exactly as it was live! The first 5 tracks on that record are amongst my favourite moments of 90s music from Britain. It degenerates a bit towards the end...

I agree that the end of the album isn't that great but to be honest there are only a couple of tracks I really like. Kinda 'play loud occasionally' music.

Incidentally, I'm just home from a drum concert/tutorial by a guy called Dave Weckl. It was brilliant :0)
