I presume his photo is on the pass? Otherwise how do you know you're giving it back to the right person? And not just some random person you found on FB with the same name? Surely better to just hand it in to the police.

It does have a photo and his name. I will hand it to the police today if I don't hear from him by midday today.

To be honest, if I received a facebook message from someone who didn't live in my area and who, because they're the third party, are a bit vague on details.....I think I'd be a bit suspicious of giving my address - and think I'd just ask them to drop it off at the police station for me.
Guess I'm a bit cynical; worked with too many youth workers who homes were burgled by their clients while they were sitting in an empty youth club...

I agree,but I haven't asked that. I have asked, should the owner respond to call me on my phone number which I have supplied. Anyway he has not responded, so I'll hand it in to the Feds later today.

The nearest police station in Didcot is closed today it was closed yesterday.

I have by process of elimination tracked down the institution that processes the ID's, so I will be handing it in to them later.
