I picked the Whyte up last Saturday and have just done a quick 30 minutes on it - first time I have been on a bike since mid October due to elbow surgery. It's lovely and light (10kg), couldn't get the front wheel off (even with the little tool, don't know if tight or if I really have no strength in my operated arm  ) but managed to get it in the back of my Golf regardless, with the seats down

Seems pretty quick (despite the limitations posed by my fitness levels), comfortable with the carbon fork (how bad have the roads got in the last 4 months  ). Need to put a WSD saddle on, a computer, some lights and a rack. Think I am going to leave mudguards off for now - the rack can stop my back getting too grubby  .

Arm is a tad sore now, as is my lower back (but that's been grumpy for 24 hours for some reason)

Now, just need the new job to be offered...!!

LOL, It just make me chuckle when people agonise over a few grammes difference between bikes for commuting then stuff loads of heavy extras on. I am on your side as I have rack with 1 or 2 panniers (depending on requirements), comprehensive tool kit and guards. I then cram change of clothes, breakfast and lunch and a couple of cans of coke in the panniers each day so original bike weight becomes a little bit irrelevent.

OT go to an American forum; where they are boasting about their super lightweight bikes and agonizing how they can make them lighter still; yet on the next page they are talking about the hand guns they carry out on the ride
