RIP Basil Brush

Well its Derek Fowlds actually but he had his hand up Basil's brush end for years.
A great actor that played such varied parts so well.
Aged 82.
BTW.....I did check but cant find another thread on this. If I have missed it, Mids, feel free to move this.

It’s a bit misleading because as far as I recall Derek didn’t do the Basil Brush voice or any of the puppetry. The original Basil Brush puppeteer died in 2000.
But anyway RIP Derek.

Heartbeat is where i know him from.Just a little other note a couple of years ago he was shopping in Sainsbury's Moor Allerton in all white clothing plus a sun hat,he must have been to the test match at Headingley.It's amazing how people off the telly or in sports seem to stand out.Like in December in Edinburgh I saw Gordon Strachan on a packed high street.

I don't think he actually held 'Basil'. He was Basil's straight man,not his puppeteer...as far as i know.
