as others have already said another great actor from my childhood sadly now gone like so many others
 
....loved that show back in the day, but for me hasn't aged as well as Dad's Army, Rising Damp.

Used to wonder how they got away with Love Thy Neighbour, what with these 'enlightened' times...............but then I recently watched Curry & Chips :stop:

As above, a "child ot its time" and ina different social context difficult to assess

These programmes are conceived by some as racist humour, others as illustrating (and challenging) racism through humour

These programmes do still survive in the modern day. the BBC's "Citizen Khan" plays upon the same stereotyping and cultural traits as Love thy Neighbour or others.
