For those of us of a certain vintage, he worked on the Gerry Anderson shows like Thunderbirds, Captain Scarlet etc. Later designed one of the most famous Sci- fi ships, the Eagle transporter from Space 1999. You could say, he was the 'real' pilot who flew Thunderbird 2:
