RIP Clive James

Just been reported on the BBC that he has passed away aged 80 years. I think he may have been battling cancer.
Always enjoyed his unique sense of humour displayed in his writing and TV appearances. His film reviews were always enjoyable.

I thought that Clive James had died several years ago. It turns out that he has been very ill since 2010 but managed to fight various serious health problems for nearly a decade.

A sharp and witty writer and seemed like a top bloke, too, down-to-earth and unassuming.

Read one of his first books, Unreliable Memoirs, and couldn't stop laughing. Strangely I haven't read any since, I'll have to rectify that.
