One half of one of those made-in-heaven pairings that seemed to have been the hallmark of a particular era in British comedy. Galton & Simpson wouldn't have had half their impact without the delivery of Tony Hancock - and vice versa. And we might never have fully known the genius of Leonard Rossiter if it hadn't been for David Nobbs. A giant of the genre. RIP.
