Usual story, he was portrayed as a straight man to appeal to their many fans, what a huge lie he had to live with, can't have been easy to live the life others told him to lead rather than the 1 he wanted. All respect when he did come out, must have been such a relief but then he had to put up with so much other c**p because of his sexuality, he had talent yet many chose to focused on his private life instead.
