Noooo! I love Squeeze.

A proper good percussionist he was.

That's sad. Love Squeeze, part of the soundtrack of my youth and indeed my life. Seen them live. Up the Junction is one of my all time favourite tunes and part of the reason it's so instantly recognisable is the opening drum break. Sad.

Me too, regarding Up The Junction! It's one of the best tunes of the very late 1970's! With Tubeway Army's Are Friends Electric being my favourite one, from the last year of that decade!😎

Oh that's a bummer, Squeeze are the support band for Madness and I'm seeing them on the 5th December.

Squeeze has been a rotating door of musicians since forever, and I don't believe Gilson had drummed with them since he was fired in the early 90s. He was latterly a fixture in Jules' Band until he stepped back a year or two ago.

According to Wiki they have had 32 full time members!
It’s really just Gifford and Tilbrook’s band. Although the line up has been fairly constant for the last 20 years.

Lavis wasn’t even their original drummer, but did play on all their major hits.
