I was a schoolboy in Devon when I first heard that song. The video seems to encompass all that youthful hope for the future, the "summer of love", those psychedelic shirts, the fashions, the imagined dawning of a new age of consciousness, teenage angst, the pretensions. The singer could have been me, a couple of years later. It all seems to be so innocent now. Some might say nostalgia ain't what it used to be but listening to that, it feels pretty powerful to me.
