It's Boo-kayy, not Bucket...

RIP Hyacinth.

A long innings and a great actress. She really brought the character of Hyacinth to life. It's hard to imagine the show would have been so successful with someone else.

The sitcom dream for me would be her and Richard staying at Fawlty Towers.

I think she was in an episode of Steptoe and Son too.

She was one of the other Teachers in To Sir, With Love, alongside Sidney Poitier
1967, I think?

I would have loved a Christmas special where Hyacinth Bucket and Victor Meldrew somehow ended up on a cruise holiday together.
They occupied the same suburban world in my mind.

My wife was a chef on the catering team for Keeping up Appearances and also One Foot in the Grave (among many others), and said both Patricia Routledge and Richard Wilson were lovely people (same couldn't be said about all actors she came across).

RIP Dame Patricia.

Yes indeed. And add Margo Leadbetter from The Good Life and it would be quite a show, lol.

The old shows had some great characters.
