The inventor of the electric trouser press has died aged 94.
Beloved of all us who travelled on expenses we always found one even in the cheapest of hotels. Some even bought one for home use. Alan Partridge once took one apart out of boredom you may recall.
In a 2009 expenses scandal Liberal MP Chris Huhne claimed £120 for one.

I do seem to remember taking some extra trousers on a business trip so that I could get them pressed.
Wasn't there a list of non trouser related purposes for them?

RIP.

I remember the Top Gear crew bringing one to India as part of a 'trade mission'. They didn't seem too impressed when Clarkson took his trousers off in front of them to demonstrate it.
