The Scottish rugby legend has passed away following complications with his cancer treatment.

Sad news indeed for the rugby world.

Only 61 as well.

Just saw that whilst watching the women’s 6N and watched Brian Moore give his tribute on TV.
Very sad news, he was always overshadowed by his brother, but still a great player.

Yeah, that's a better/fairer way of putting it. Some of the pressure on Big Gav's kicks must have been unreal.

Thats sad, especially at that age.

He died on his wifes birthday. She died 2 years ago, aged 60. She walked into the sea while suffering with depression.

I saw both brothers play at Twickenham.

My favourite Scott Hastings anecdote -

During a Lions tour of New Zealand, he was late for breakfast at the team's country hotel. Greeted by staff he was dismayed to hear that some items were no longer available.

"Whit?" The big man boomed, "How come you've run out of bacon? Gesturing out the large windows at the rolling countryside and fields, "This is New Zealand! You have millions of sheep, how can you have no bacon?"
