Thanks for the kind messages guys, he didn't suffer. He died in peacefully my arms and it was over very quickly. I have many happy memories with him together and he will live on in my heart. I am a wreck at the moment though.

Really sorry to hear of your sad news. It brings all those painful memories rushing back, it's awful losing a dog.

The best bit of advice I had when trying to cope with it was from Arch on here actually, which was about not trying to get over the loss, it's too great, but to simply try and come to terms with it. Helped me a lot anyway (thanks Arch if you're reading.)

Very best wishes to you, RIP Simba.

I'm sorry for you and your family. Many of us understand what you're going through. Take care of the memories, you'll cherish them for a long time.

Gosh, I'm so glad it helped. I hope it helps Fluffy/Simba.

A memorial and tree are great ideas. Something else you might consider - choose something of Simba's - collar or favourite toy or something, and give it pride of place. At first, everytime you look at it, it'll make you sad, but try to think of it in a positive light, and gradually it'll just bring on happy memories. When I lost my boyfriend the flat was crammed with his stuff - books, model planes, odds and ends, and at first it all made me feel sad, but now, it's all just lovely reminders of stuff we did together. I'd much rather have it all there, than hide it away.

The pain does dull, however much you think it won't. It just takes time.

Yea he had a massive impact in my life, I am getting a stone memorial to put by his grave and we will be planting some sort of tree as well.

Best wishes Fluffy, you do right to remember him. You will have made as much of an impact and impression on his life as he did on your life.
