Before Pru, who's now 92 and with dementia. That's especially sad.

My wife has met him (and Pru, of course), accompanying them in a taxi to an event.

Very "lovey" but very lovely people was her conclusion. And considerate, going through their briefing notes for the event very thoroughly.

Saw them both leaving a restaurant a few years back. Was going to say something as a huge Fawlty Towers fan. However they were very human and he was helping her with coat and getting her out of the restaurant that me bounding in was intrusive.

It is sad when the “wrong partner” dies first.

My father in law died first when he was sole carer for his wife who had dementia.
My wife tried to keep the show on the road but within a matter of months she was in a carehome.
She couldn’t even manage to attend her own husband’s funeral.
