I still can't help wondering, famous for wearing cardigans. Hottest day of the year. Is there something we're missing here?

We had three Best Hits albums I can remember as a kid at home, Bernard Cribbins, Rolf Harris and Val Doonican...

Indeed, he was a Saturday morning singer in our house at breakfast time in the 70s.

Think my dad still has the albums somewhere: probably along with the Mantovani, James Last and Roger Whittaker.

Very sad - RIP.
OMG

A tear in one of his jumpers!

Seriously though

In this day and age of fake celebrity, tarnished reputations, and other failings... Val Doonican indeed could "Walk Tall"

Someone who was talented, gifted, genuine and honest... A genuine person who deserved their reputation

My wife has a CD in the car labelled "Cardigan Music" which is all Val Doonican for hen she travels with her mother

I may have to dig it out for this evening along with. Bright cardigan
