Rivendell Clem Smith Jnr L 59cm

Really nice go anywhere, do anything step through steel frame bike.

New for this build;
Rivendell Clem Smith Jnr L frame, fork, headset, seat post
Rivendell Bosco bars
Shimano square taper BB
Front LX mech
Cassette Sunrace 9sp 11-34
Chain 9 speed
Brake pads
Brake and gear cables and housings
Tyres and tubes 700 x 50mm Schwalbe Big Ben
Front rack
Rear Tubus rack
Mudguards
WTB saddle
Side stand

Brought across from previous bike;
Wheels are Ringle hubs with DRC ST rims for rim or disc brakes
Chainset Shimano square taper with 38, 24 and ring protector
Brakes Deore Vs and Avid levers
Stem mounted friction shifters
Rear mech XT
Stem

Frame can take up to 700 x 2.4” tyres, but any more than 2.1” and the tyres have to be deflated a bit when removing wheels to clear brakes and the mudguards and rear rack won’t take more than 2.1”. There are a couple of cut outs on the mudguards covered with tape that are to accommodate the rear rack.

Handling wise it feels as manoeuvrable as my old LHT with 26” wheels (which I thought felt a lot better than the 700 version), but with the added roll over of 29er wheels and no toe overlap.

All in all a very practical, comfortable, go anywhere fun bike. Only used for about 300 miles. In the photos you'll see a couple of small paint chips near BB non drive side. (note: I've resisted the urge to touch up with red nail varnish.)

£800 prefer pick up Perthshire, but will consider posting

I've also posted this on other cycling forum.

Happy to separate out wheels, tyres and drivetrain if you'd prefer to build up yourself.

Change of plan, I've stripped it down to frameset, bars, brakes and racks and put it on ebay.
