Umm ... something like this? Anybody with tendencies to apoplexy should NOT click.

But Cath Burrows is "in anguish", "devastated", "shattered" ................ ffs, the cyclist's getting the blame again. You couldn't make it up ... but the *** could.

Something tells me ... not yet

I somehow knew that the silly cow would be selling her story asap! That scuzzy so called newspaper doesn't give a toss about cyclists safety, and in a way it's mocking us.

Conwy Cycling Rights Representative has commented saying that people need to consider the safety of cyclists

This needs expanding. "People need to consider the safety of everyone".

Sadly I think the day's of courtesy, consideration and understanding for each other are long gone. This maybe a old fashioned view in the eyes of many, but life was much easier, safer and enjoyable when I was a a lad.

Are these day's lost for ever?

I don't think that making an example of this one woman will make a blind jot of difference to how people drive.
If it is demonstrated that she made a mistake or she was driving carelessly, she should be punished - but any one on here that drives and claims to have never been distracted or to never have made bad decisions when driving is deluding themselves.

We need to promote cycling and continue to enable and nurture its growth - so that motorists and pedestrians get used to looking out for cyclists and accept their right to be on the road. If enough people cycle it reduces traffic congestion and benefits those motorists who remain in their cars. They will also find it easier to find a parking space when they get to their destination.

Improving motorist's attitudes to cyclists will not be achieved by cyclists regarding all motorists as homicidal maniacs, the enemy, or the Devil's spawn!

I don't think ...
Hmmm - do we agree on something? Sorry - but your post really did grate  .
that making an example of this one woman will make a blind jot of difference to how people drive.
But NOT making an example of the woman gives carte blanche to a huge number of ****-wits?

Irrelevant. And damned insulting, if you're suggesting that allowances be made for numpties who get "distracted" or make "bad decisions".

Vacuous - meaningless claptrap, until we come to your self-interest? You wrote this ...

Making an example of someone is NOT useful ...treating her in accordance of the law is.

I did not suggest that she was not punished.... I merely suggested that people are honest enough (you clearly are not!) to acknowledge that anyone of us can make a mistake or a bad decision. As a cyclist who was hit by a car in a cycling accident in which my Grandfather was killed, if I can reach this conclusion it's a shame that you choose to insult me due to your arrogance or ignorance or both.

As for my "self interest" What do you know about my self interest? I commute to work by car because I live 30 miles away. I can park easily and don't have to navigate through heavy traffic. The advantages of more cyclists on the road are clear...and society benefits - and that includes motorists.

So if you found that my post grated on you, tough - just ignore my postings in future!
