I have really enjoyed this forum. For the most part everyone is well behaved and friendly. A very nice change from some of the other forums I visit. It's obvious that most of the members are from across the pond (from me) in Euro land. I was wondering who do you want to see as the US President?

Me, R and R all the way. They will kick start the US economy which will help the entire world. I feel they have the best plan to put the US back on track.

The Republicans scare me. They put this guy up at the front of the room who spouts a load of stuff that amounts to basically "Devil take the hindmost" and then for some reason everyone in the room cheers as if they actually believe it.

And as for all that tosh about a rose a day, I wish I had time in a morning to go and find a rose for SWMBO.

Hmm, referring to the UK as part of Euro land, there's a can of worms!

I can't say the US presidency ranks large in my priorities, although I guess I prefer a Democrat. But I'm rather of the "they're all the same" opinion when it comes to politicians....

Politics - what a good way to start an arguement

Well I suppose if you want all poor people to fend for themselves while the rich find ways of avoiding tax, and rape victims to be consider the guilty party, and abortion to be banned whatever the circumstances, then the Republicans is the way to go

If however you want a fairer society, where the less fortunate are helped, and the rich pay their fair share of tax then you need the democrats

Sorry, when you say R & R, do you mean Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan ? If you do, in my personal opinion (others may be held), I think your on to a looser. The choice in the US seems to be between a right wing administration - Democrats and an extreme right wing administration - Republicans.
I visit the US quite a bit on business and it always surprises me that most US politics seem to be around the politicians pandering to the rich - making them richer and for some reason, the rest of the country believes, accepts it and considers that this is a good thing. From the outside that appears to go no matter which party you look at.
From the outsider it appears in the US provided your rich or in employment you're OK (oh add healthy), once you have some bad luck, and either fall ill or loose your job you're stuffed.
But, as I say that's my personal opinion and does not necessarily represent those of this forum, my employer, other people, etc., etc., etc. and I'm lots of people will disagree with me.
